Clinical Support Staff - Part time

 

Hourly Pay Rate: $23.00 - $25.00 per hr DOE

Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours (Monday - Friday, mornings and evenings)

Clinic operating hours: 8:30am - 7:00pm

 

Are you passionate about adolescent and young adult mental health? Embark at Walnut Creek is seeking part-time Clinical Support Staff to support our Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) programs in Walnut Creek, CA.

 

As part of our team, you will play a vital role in reducing anxiety, depression, and suicide among young people while working in a supportive and mission-driven environment. You will be surrounded by a compassionate and experienced leadership team dedicated to facilitating lasting positive change for young people and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Support clinical staff during treatment groups, activities, and implementation of group rules and norms.
  • Supervise students and maintain a safe environment, including monitoring for emergencies and following safety procedures.
  • Build positive, therapeutic relationships with students through encouragement, praise, mentorship, and role modeling.
  • Assist students in processing concerns, solving problems, and developing healthy coping strategies to manage emotions.
  • Provide support and intervention for students experiencing emotional distress or behavioral challenges.
  • Observe, document, and communicate student behavior, affect, participation, and overall progress.
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to suicide risk, including symptom observation, screenings, and collaboration with the clinical team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, behavioral science, or equivalent field
  • Experience working with adolescents, teens ages 12 - 17 yrs. old
  • Experience working in a behavioral or mental health setting
  • Team player with a growth mindset
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to pass a state background check
  • Microsoft Suite & Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
