How you'll make an impact in this role:

• Clinical Oversight: Assure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration, and dispensing of medication orders in specialized areas, including nuclear medicine, oncology, and cardiology to ensure patient safety.
• Medication Management: Review and assess complex medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve drug-related problems, while recommending formulary alternatives when appropriate.
• Care Collaboration: Act as a subject matter expert in pharmacy, providing clinical guidance to leadership and communicating directly with physicians to facilitate seamless patient care.
• Patient Education: Provide drug information and counseling to patients and medical staff, ensuring clear understanding of treatment plans and medication safety.
• Team Leadership: Supervise technical personnel in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all pharmacy operations.
• Academic Mentorship: Support the next generation of pharmacists by serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students, fostering a learning environment.

What minimum qualifications you'll need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Pharmacist credentialed from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required.

Education:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.

What additional requirements you'll need:

• Successful completion of a PGY1 residency.
• Successful completion of a PGY2 residency in Infectious Disease.
