Job Description:

Shift: Monday-Friday, some early mornings, some evenings depending on the needs of the department

  • Offers educational support for Respiratory preceptors per facility needs.

  • Reviews and revises training materials regularly. Stays current with standards, policies, SOPs, technology, and research.

  • Contributes to the development and/or modification of clinical standards, policies, SOPs.

  • Evaluates and introduces new Respiratory Care equipment and technologies.

  • Implements iCARE principles and represents the department professionally.

  • Communicates and implements steps to meet regulatory agency requirements.

  • Assists in maintaining high-quality performance in department activities.

  • Enforces department and hospital policies. Promotes quality patient care and ensures the delivery of safe Respiratory Care.

  • Maintains good working relationships and open communication with staff, supervisors, students, and program instructors.

  • Plans, develops, schedules, and performs continuing education and staff competencies.

  • Educates interns using various instructional methods and ensures their competency before patient care.

  • Monitors intern activities, facilitates critical thinking, and provides constructive feedback.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's [Required]

Field of Study:

  • in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science

Work Experience:

  • Clinical teaching and formal presentation experience [Preferred]

  • Experienced in delivering presentations and the use of Microsoft PowerPoint [Required]

  • NBRC credential must be maintained as a condition of continued role eligibility.

  • All States: require NBRC for new hires, and incumbents

Licenses and Certifications:

  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT [Required]

  • Active NBRC Credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT [Preferred]

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS [Required]
