    Full-Time Hours: 4PM to 12AM (Alternating Weekends)

    Summary & Objective

    The Resource Nurse provides clinical support and guidance to nursing staff across assigned Inpatient Units or shifts. This role serves as a subject matter expert and clinical resource, promoting high quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and staff competency while supporting IPU operations as needed.

    Essential Functions

    • Acts as a clinical resource for nursing staff, guiding patient care, policies, and procedures
    • Supports nurses with complex patient and/or caregivers' care needs
    • Strengthen clinical excellence in symptom management/end-of-life care transitions
    • Communicate with physicians regarding patient progress and special circumstances
    • Assists with patient and/or resident chart audits to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
    • Conducts rounds during assigned shifts to monitor patient care and staff workflow in the EMR
    • Provides real time education and coaching to nursing staff based on identified needs
    • Supports patients' assessments using the nursing process and facility standards
    • Assists in the development and implementation of individualized plans of care
    • Ensure supplies, medications, and equipment are properly stored and available
    • Responds to call lights and urgent clinical issues within the established timeframe
    • Assists with documentation reviews to support:
    • Regulatory compliance
    • Plan of care accuracy
    • Interdisciplinary communication
    • Promotes adherence to hospice policies, procedures, and standards

    Other Duties

    Administers medications and treatments in accordance with nursing policies and procedures.

    Provide orientation regularly to new employees.

    Attends and participates in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings (IDG) as required.

    Reports patients' and/or residents' condition to appropriate personnel during each shift.

    Floats to other IPUs assigned to meet patient care needs.

    Maintain your required licenses, certifications, and mandatory skill updates.

    Comply with all policies, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

    Provide other duties of a healthcare team member

    Perform other duties as assigned

    Supervisory Responsibility

    • May serve as an interim department leader depending on need

    Physical Requirements

    Requirements

    Knowledge & Experience Requirements

    • Clear and Active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license to practice in the state of Florida
    • CPR certification
    • 1-3 years of experience in a Health Care Facility
    • Must know computer office/clinical software

    Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language
