    Assists Research Pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and delivery of study medications according to study protocol.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Supports the Pharmacist in the daily operations of the pharmacy.
    • Adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved protocols.
    • Understands good clinical practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance.
    • Complies with institutional policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines.
    • Assists in cleaning and maintenance of IV hoods and the surrounding work environment.
    • Maintains inventory of Investigational Products and other supplies needed for dose preparation and compounding.
    • Processes daily shipments from sponsors by receiving inventory from the mailroom, completing paperwork requirements of shipper, and receiving shipments in the various systems.
    • Completes training as required by sponsors in the various systems and maintains access to all systems used by sponsors.
    • Maintains a clean and safe pharmacy by complying with regulations, rules, and procedures.
    • Performs related responsibilities as required.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Proficient in reading, writing, and mathematics.
    • Effective communication, excellent attention to detail, strong information and time management, and administrative / computer Skills
    • Knowledge of medical/pharmaceutical terminology.
    • Good organizational skills and ability to learn and use computer systems.
    • Availability to work weekends and evenings as needed

    Minimum Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Current CPhT certification and registration in the state of Georgia.
    • Must maintain certifications and registration during entire length of employment.
    • Must have at least 2-3 years of experience as IV room pharmacy technician preferably in a pediatric hospital.

    Employment in this role may be contingent upon extramural funding and successful performance and may be terminated or reduced in percentage of appointment if such funding is not secured or ceases to be available.
