Saint Louis University (SLU) School of Medicine isseekingexperienced and compassionate Registered Nurses tocontribute directly to SLU's research enterprise by supporting innovative clinical trials and research studies that advance knowledge, improve treatments, andultimately impactpatients.
As aClinical Research Nurse, you will work alongside physicians/principal investigators to coordinate and conduct clinical research activities for studies involving investigational drugs, medical devices, procedures, and other research interventions. The Clinical Research Nurse serves as a key liaison between research participants, investigators, sponsors, institutional review boards, and clinical partners to ensure studies are conductedin accordance withGood Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
These positions combine clinical nursingexpertise, patient advocacy, research coordination, and regulatory compliance to support a broad portfolio of clinical trials.

- Screen, recruit, consent, enroll, andretainresearch participants according to study protocols.
- Conduct nursing assessments and monitor participants throughout study participation.
- Coordinate and manage study visits, procedures, testing, and follow-up activities.
- Review medical records and collect relevant clinical data for research studies.
- Administer andmonitorinvestigational therapies and study-related interventions aspermittedby protocol.
- Document study activities, participant interactions, and protocol-related procedures in electronic systems and source documentation.
- Ensureaccurateandtimelyentry of study data into clinical trial management systems and sponsor databases.
- Collaborate with investigators, research coordinators, sponsors, and clinical partners tomaintainprotocol compliance.
- Monitor,identify, document, and report adverse events and protocol deviations.
- Support regulatory submissions, study audits, monitoring visits, and compliance activities.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and ensure the integrity and security of research data.
- Apply institutional, federal, and regulatory requirements governing humansubjectsresearch.
- Serve as a resource for research participants and interdisciplinary study teams.
- Performadditionalduties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of clinical nursing practices and patient care standards.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple studies and competing priorities in a fast-paced research environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance.
- Proficiencywith electronic medical records (EMR/EHR), Microsoft Office, and clinical research software systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to travel to off-site clinical or research locations as needed.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current Missouri nursing license or eligibility for Missouri licensure.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Three (3) years of professional nursing experience.
- Proficiencywith electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.
- Clinicalresearchexperience
- Experience working within an academic medical center, hospital, or healthcare research setting.
