The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to coordinate research for a large, multi-site project that aims to improve care delivery to medically underserved populations with Type 1 Diabetes. This grant-funded project allows for the expansion of a Type 1 Diabetes research projects focused on evaluation of health outcomes for patients at health centers across Florida. This individual will work in a team setting monitoring and, under the supervision of the Principal Investigators, will be involved in coordinating project planning, serving as a liaison for research subjects and participating health centers for the investigator, IRB, sponsor and other healthcare professionals. This individual will also work on marketing elements, development of informed consent forms, and maintenance of reporting. The position also includes conducting literature reviews, designing and preparing complex charts, data tables, and presentations. This individual will communicate with faculty and staff as well as other internal and external constituencies.

Clinical Research Coordination:
Responsible for coordinating a large, multi-site project planning, serving as a liaison for research subjects and participating health centers for the investigator, IRB, sponsor and other healthcare professionals, recruiting study participants, and extensive data collection including survey and focus group data. Ensure participating health centers following established protocols. Coordinate with the department marketing team to develop marketing and advertising materials for the program. Develop Informed Consent Forms (ICFs) and maintain all reporting for ceded IRB processes.

Administrative Responsibilities:
Coordinate the efforts of the research coordinators involved in the study. Monitor and coordinate project planning, timelines, and tasks. Coordinate scheduling for conference calls with all sites. Prepare IRB/CRC documents and maintain regulatory compliance. Serve as the liaison between participating entities, enters in travel authorizations and expense reports, etc. Attend training and all administrative meetings for the research teams.   

Report Preparation:
Search and organize the scientific literature related to research using relevant databases and other sources; maintaining bibliographical citation data; and preparing written summaries of literature. Create data summaries and reports in concert with data analysis team. Design and prepare complex charts, data tables, and presentations.

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficiency with Word, Excel, SPSS or other statistical software, Web navigation tools and programs, and general computer functioning. Strong written and verbal communication. Proficiency with REDCap survey development and implementation and coordination across multiple sites. IRB/Regulatory experience and strong working knowledge of UF’s Human Subjects Payments (HSP) protocols. Knowledge about Type 1 Diabetes. Ability to work independently and ability to collaborate with faculty and staff at multiple levels. Written and spoken Spanish language proficiency.
