Job Purpose: Performs a variety of clinical non-patient care activities to assist providers and nurses.

Essential Functions: (Examples of Duties)

  1. Completes internal, ACO or special chart audits as assigned
  2. Completes research, reports and special projects as assigned by Director of Clinical Operations
  3. Monitors and works clinical inboxes of former staff and providers and generic clinical inboxes
  4. Notifies patients of results as directed by the provider via clinical inbox
  5. Labels inbox documents and forwards to appropriate clinical inbox for patient notification
  6. Completes chart abstraction as required
  7. Schedules patients for testing procedures, completes referral template and chart preparations
  8. Processes prescription refills as directed by the provider
  9. Works clinical inbox of the provider as outlined by provider preference
  10. Reports in-house lab testing
  11. Ability to effectively and efficiently navigate and document in EHR
  12. Performs telephone triage per established guidelines and documents accordingly
  13. Attends required meetings, in-services and participates in committee work as requested
  14. Maintains patient confidentiality
  15. Performs related work as required
  16. Physician panel sort and clean-up annually
  17. PCMH project data research and reporting
  18. Onsite work with ample notice given

Job Requirements/Qualifications: (Describe minimum qualifications, preferred or required) Education: Graduation from an accredited medical assisting or nursing program. Experience: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in an outpatient medical office using an EHR, preferred Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment. Skill in taking vital signs. Skill in maintaining records and recording test results. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly. Licenses/Certifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Medical Assisting Degree or Diploma from accredited Allied Health Professional Education Institution or valid Nursing License in the state of TN, if applicable. CPR certification Working Conditions: Exposure to communicable, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. This position may occasionally work remote and requires the employee to work independently and stay on task with minimal supervision. Physical Demands: Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Requires computer/sitting position for long periods.
