Davenport, IA Full-Time | Part-Time | PRN Join a Team Dedicated to Women's HealthThe Group Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialists is seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Medical Assistant (MA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing Women's Health team. This position provides clinical support for in-office gynecologic procedures while partnering with our physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver exceptional care throughout every stage of a woman's life. Position SummaryThis role is responsible for preparing patients for in-office procedures, assisting providers during procedures, educating patients, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and compassionate clinical experience. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a collaborative environment and thrives in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Essential Responsibilities- Prepare patients for office visits and gynecologic procedures.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during in-office procedures, including:
- Endometrial biopsies
- Colposcopies
- Hysteroscopies
- LEEP procedures
- IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals
- Vulvar and cervical biopsies
- Other minor gynecologic procedures
- Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and procedure rooms.
- Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and assessments.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccines within scope of practice.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Provide patient education regarding procedures, medications, recovery, and follow-up care.
- Coordinate procedure scheduling, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, OSHA, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with providers, medical assistants, nurses, and front office staff to deliver outstanding patient care.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Practical Nursing, or Registered Nursing program.
- Current certification or licensure appropriate for position:
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (preferred)
- Iowa LPN License
- Iowa RN License
- Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain).
- Previous experience in OB/GYN, Women's Health, ambulatory surgery, or a physician office is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a collaborative clinical team.
