We will be focused in the Surgi Centre Prep/Recovery, Endoscopy Prep/Recovery and Endoscopy Procedural areas in PCAM and HUP Dulles. This right candidate is responsible for coordinating initial and ongoing staff training and education, serves as a clinical resource to staff, organizes education for endoscopy in-services, partners with nurse leadership team and quality/safety team on escalation and investigation of safety nets, oversees onboarding of new staff, collaborates and leads departmental quality and education initiatives, serves as CPR instructor, supports clinical advancement of staff.

Summary:
Responsibilities:
Advance nursing practice and improve patient outcomes at the multi-unit/ service line/ health system level by:\tUtilizing evidence to establish practice standards\tAssessing nursing practice for improvement opportunities\tLeading nurses in designing, implementing, and evaluating practice change \tFostering nurses' professional development through teaching, mentoring, and coaching
providing feedback to nurses about professional practice \tOverseeing delivery of a comprehensive unit-based orientation program to onboard newly hired nurses
Work in partnership with the Nurse Manager to:\tSet strategic goals for the nursing unit that align with clinical and operational organizational imperatives\tDesign and implement strategies to achieve high priority goals (e.g., nursing-sensitive indicators, population-specific quality metrics, patient and nursing satisfaction)\tEngage nursing staff in effective bidirectional communication and shared decision making\tCultivate a healthy, ethical, and respectful work environment
Influence system changes that drive quality and/ or cost improvements in nurse and/or patient outcomes by:\tBuilding partnership within and across diverse stakeholder groups through leadership, team building, negotiation, and conflict resolution\tLeading systematic quality and safety initiatives based on precise problem identification, gap analysis, and/or process evaluation\tLeading the interprofessional team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based practices\tLeading change efforts in response to organizational and community needs
