Schedule: Monday-Friday, shifts between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM Central Time

Position Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician 2 to support specialty pharmacy operations for home infusion, IVIG, and hemophilia therapies. This role works closely with pharmacists and cross-functional teams to ensure timely prescription processing, data entry, inventory management, and order fulfillment while maintaining compliance with pharmacy regulations and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong pharmacy operations experience, excellent computer proficiency, knowledge of pharmacy regulations, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-volume specialty pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists to support daily pharmacy operations.
- Process prescription orders accurately and efficiently to meet service level expectations.
- Retrieve, prepare, count, label, and package medications for pharmacist verification and approval.
- Enter and maintain prescription information and patient data within pharmacy systems.
- Coordinate prescription reorders and support home infusion, IVIG, and hemophilia therapy workflows.
- Manage multiple production and processing queues while maintaining productivity standards.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to prioritize workload and ensure timely order completion.
- Purchase, receive, track, and maintain pharmacy inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels and update inventory recap reports.
- Remove discontinued or expired medications and complete required documentation.
- Maintain prescription logs and pharmacy documentation records.
- Calibrate pharmacy equipment and document calibration activities according to established procedures.
- Maintain temperature logs, cleaning logs, and other regulatory documentation.
- Ensure compliance with state pharmacy laws, accreditation standards, and company policies.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and process improvement activities.
- Assist with special projects and collaborative initiatives involving pharmacists and nurse case managers.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Remote prescription data entry and processing.
- Reorder management for specialty medications.
- Queue management and workflow prioritization.
- Coordination with pharmacists to resolve processing issues.
- Inventory tracking and documentation.
- Maintaining accuracy and productivity metrics.
- Supporting specialty pharmacy operations for patients receiving complex therapies.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a:
- Pharmacy Technician
- Medical Office Professional
- Prior Authorization Specialist
- Medical Biller
- Medical Coder
- Healthcare Administrative Professional
- Familiarity with medications used to treat chronic and debilitating conditions.
Licensure
- Active Pharmacy Technician License in TX, FL, or MO (based on employee/work location).
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
