Responsibilities
Participates as a member of the Department of Pharmacy to execute the clinical functions of the Department, with minimal distributive responsibility.
Provides expertise to Mercy Health Services to enhance the appropriate, cost-effective use of medications, and provides consultative services related to specialty areas of expertise.
Is a resource in supporting the clinical skills of other pharmacists in the Department to assure the highest quality pharmaceutical care for Mercy patients.
As a pharmacist, demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to access data reflective of the patients status. He/she must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to age-specific needs and provides care as described in the Departments Policies and Procedures.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience
Must possess a high school diploma or GED Must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a school of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education. An accredited residency in Hospital Pharmacy or Pharmacy Practice or equivalent preferred. Three years post-doctoral experience in a hospital environment preferred. Residency may count as one year. Experience in an outpatient anticoagulation clinic strongly preferred.
