Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist
Location: Independence, MO
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire | With Benefits
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM | Occasional Evenings | Every 4th Weekend
Pay: $52.58 – $70.55/hr (based on experience)

  • New Graduate Rate: $52.58/hour

  • Minimum: $54.92/hour (1+ year experience)

  • Midpoint: $66.98/hour (10+ years experience)

  • Maximum: $70.55/hour (20+ years experience)

Facility Overview
Join a 285+ bed acute care hospital serving patients in Independence and the greater Kansas City area. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services and an accredited Chest Pain Center. The hospital provides a broad range of specialized services, including orthopedic care, an accredited cancer program and breast center, women's services, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, stroke care, surgery, advanced wound care, pain management, sleep disorders, imaging, and rehabilitation.

What You Will Do

  • Interpret medication orders and accurately transcribe them into the pharmacy computer system.

  • Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals for hospital inpatients.

  • Monitor medication therapy for contraindications, drug-drug and drug-food interactions, allergies, and medication/dose appropriateness.

  • Recommend appropriate and cost-effective therapeutic medication alternatives to medical staff.

  • Support the hospital formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements and utilizing therapeutic interchanges.

  • Promote safe, effective, and rational medication therapy throughout the hospital.

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services including drug consultations, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV-to-PO conversion, and renal dosing.

  • Complete required reports related to medication errors and adverse drug reactions.

  • Provide oversight and support for pharmacy staff scheduling.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Open to all experience levels. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred but not required. New graduates and candidates with retail pharmacy experience will be considered.

  • Education: B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School/College of Pharmacy. PharmD preferred.

  • Licensure: Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.

  • Residency: PGY1 Pharmacy General Practice Residency or Fellowship highly preferred.

  • Certification:BCPS (Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist) certification preferred.

Compensation & Differentials

  • Evening Differential: +$2/hour

  • Night Differential: +$3/hour

  • Weekend Differential: +$3/hour

  • Extra Shift Differential: +$14/hour

  • On-Call Pay: +$2.25/hour

  • Sign-On Bonus: Case-by-case
