    Job Description

    Job Description

Summit Eye Center is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician or Assistant to join our team. If you thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and take pride in delivering exceptional patient care, we'd love to meet you.

    About the Role
You'll work alongside our physicians and clinical team to support patient care from intake through exam. This is a full-time position in a busy, multi-physician eye care medical practice where no two days look exactly alike.

    What You'll Do

    • Room patients and obtain accurate medical histories, including current medications and chief complaints
    • Perform preliminary testing and diagnostic workups (visual acuity, refraction, lensometry, OCT, visual fields, etc.)
    • Document accurately and maintain clean, organized exam rooms and equipment
    • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients of all ages and backgrounds

    What We're Looking For

    • Reliable and dependable — you show up on time and follow through
    • Detail-oriented and accurate — precision matters in eye care
    • Respectful and professional — with patients and teammates alike
    • Adaptable — comfortable in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly
    • A team player who works well with all personalities — patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential

    Qualifications

    • Ophthalmic or medical assisting experience is preferred, but we are happy to train the right candidate with strong transferable skills and a genuine interest in eye care
    • Certification (COA, COT, or equivalent) is a plus, not a requirement
    • Comfort with computers and electronic health records
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
