RCHSD Chadwick Center is a fully accredited hospital-based children's advocacy center (CAC), a child-friendly place that provides family-focused and trauma-informed services to help children and families heal from abuse and other trauma.

Within the Chadwick Center, the Child Abuse Pediatrics department conducts child abuse medical examinations when there is concern about child abuse, including sexual and physical abuse examinations. Our multidisciplinary team (MDT), also known as the Child Protection Team (CPT), includes caring and trained professionals from law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, mental health, medical, family advocacy and other CAC staff and community partners. We provide specialized services to help children and families heal from abuse and trauma by providing a coordinated, compassionate MDT response.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of a licensed practitioner and/or department leader, the Clin-Med Assist II independently provides and documents clinical care and associated tasks as assigned and as per standardized clinical protocols. This position utilizes appropriate age and developmental approaches in application of care, regularly performs a supportive role to physicians, nurses and families in the delivery of patient care, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal care is provided in a quality environment to patients and families. Administrative duties will also be performed as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent education required

2 years of experience

Completion of a Medical Assistant Course is required

Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by American Heart Association

Knowledge of healthcare operations and workflows

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's Degree

3 years of experience

Bilingual English/Spanish

Certified Medical Assistant

Completion of blood draw training and competency

Advanced knowledge of medical terminology; experience with data entry and clinical computer systems

More than one year of Pediatric experience in inpatient, outpatient, or long-term care setting

The current salary range for this position is $24.26 to $33.36
