    Day Shift - 7.5 Hours (United States of America)

    The Clinical Manager provides operational and clinical leadership for the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health services. The Clinical Manager oversees daily departmental operations, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and patient flow across CPEP services, including Mobile Crisis and inpatient behavioral health programs. This position plays a key role in fostering a culture of safety, accountability, staff engagement, and continuous improvement.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Leadership & Staff Development

    • Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of clinical staff.
    • Participate in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, orientation, and retention initiatives.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide recommendations regarding promotions, disciplinary actions, and professional development opportunities.
    • Promote staff engagement and support a positive, collaborative work environment.

    Operations Management

    • Coordinate and oversee daily operations to ensure efficient patient flow and effective staffing coverage across CPEP, Mobile Crisis, and inpatient behavioral health services.
    • Monitor staffing levels and make real-time operational decisions to maintain safe, effective patient care.
    • Serve as the operational designee in the Nurse Manager’s absence, assuming responsibility for staffing, workflow, and departmental operations.
    • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, social workers, crisis counselors, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and operational outcomes.
    • Represent the department on committees, workgroups, and organizational initiatives.
    • Serve as a resource and clinical leader for staff, addressing escalated patient care and operational concerns as needed.

    Quality, Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with all applicable hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards, including OMH, CMS, Joint Commission, and other governing agencies.
    • Monitor quality indicators, incident reports, patient outcomes, and performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
    • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives.

     

    Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
    • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressive nursing experience, preferably in psychiatric, behavioral health, emergency psychiatry, or crisis intervention settings.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health regulations, standards of care, and patient safety practices.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

     

    Department Preferences

    • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
    • Previous supervisory, management, or charge nurse experience.
    • Experience within a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), psychiatric emergency services, or inpatient behavioral health setting.

    Salary range: $115,000-125,000

    Day shift, 11a-7p & covering one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday).
