Clinical Manager (ASC)

Infection prevention and sterile practice: Monitor surgical asepsis, hand hygiene, environmental cleaning, OR traffic, instrument handling, sterilization/high-level disinfection practices, and compliance with infection-prevention policies. Computer literacy, proficiency with Outlook, Word processing, PowerPoint, and Excel spreadsheets; able to independently use office equipment such as fax, copier and scanner; sufficiently proficient in medical equipment to guide the selection and bid process.

What We Offer:

The Clinical Manager (ASC) Ambulatory Surgical Center is responsible for overseeing the coordination of nursing practice for the Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC). In the role, the Clinical Manager (ASC) Ambulatory Surgical Center should have a vision of the big picture with an understanding that enhancing clinical effectiveness may not be a one-time endeavor, and that meaningful change requires continuous improvement. 

What We're Looking For:

• Education:  
• • 2 Year / Associate Degree, Required.
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree, BSN preferred.
• Experience:  Candidates with Operating Room and/or Ambulatory Surgery Center experience are strongly preferred. 
• Licensure/Certification:
• • Current RN licensure required. required. Minimum 3 years RN experience in a healthcare setting, OR experience is ideal.
• Additional Skills (required):
• • Computer literacy, proficiency with Outlook, Word processing, PowerPoint, and Excel spreadsheets; able to independently use office equipment such as fax, copier and scanner; sufficiently proficient in medical equipment to guide the selection and bid process. Able to operate all appropriate clinical equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Able to perform the necessary functions on the center's computer systems. Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors and physicians. Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
  • Strong background in patient centric care; Experience with facilitating education and training; Must have the ability to complete assignments required for State, Regulatory, Accreditation and other required organizations.
  • Experience in leadership roles; Strong ethical and moral character references; Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication. Accuracy and attention to detail without compromise of patient care. 

What You'll Do:

• Daily OR operations: Oversee room assignments, case flow, turnover, staffing, breaks, and coordination of the surgical schedule to keep cases moving safely and efficiently.
• Clinical oversight: Ensure OR nursing practice follows established standards for patient identification, time-outs, medication safety, positioning, surgical counts, specimen handling, documentation, and safe patient care.
• Staff management: Supervise OR RNs, surgical technologists, and other clinical staff; participate in hiring, orientation, competency validation, performance management, coaching, scheduling, and education.
• Surgeon and anesthesia coordination: Work closely with surgeons and anesthesia providers regarding preferences, equipment, supplies, scheduling issues, clinical concerns, and operational needs.
• Regulatory readiness: Maintain compliance with CMS Conditions for Coverage, state requirements, OSHA, infection-prevention standards, and the ASC's accrediting organization such as AAAHC, The Joint Commission, or ACHC.
