The Clinical Lab Technician/Technologist will perform moderate and high complexity testing and result analysis for clinical laboratory departments including chemistry, immunoassay, infectious disease, hematology, urinalysis, and blood bank subdisciplines. Participates in documenting and implementing Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC)/Quality Inventory (QI) procedures. Assists in trouble shooting and maintenance of equipment. Performs laboratory tasks and other functions independently.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Clinical Laboratory Sciences/Medical Technology or related, required.
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school in Clinical Laboratory Sciences/Medical Technology or related, preferred.
Minimum 1 year of testing experience in the field of clinical laboratory testing (chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, urinalysis, and blood bank),
Certification as a Medical Technician, Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) from a recognized certifying agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT), preferred.
Florida State Licensure is not required
Experience with Beckman-Coulter Instrumentation, preferred.
Thorough knowledge of laboratory testing methodologies, instrumentation, and quality control procedures.
