Job Summary and Responsibilities
Job Duties:
patient specimens in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accurate and timely
results.
critical values within established turnaround times.
maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting, including coordinating with instrument vendors for
technical support or repairs.
remains within established performance parameters.
compliance and testing accuracy.
equipment to support implementation of updated testing technologies.
technical skills and support the development of students and coworkers, and monitors laboratory
supply inventory, including assisting with ordering and stocking materials.
Job Requirements
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or closely related.
The employer will accept a foreign equivalent degree if it is in the same field.
Experience Requirements:
24 months in the job offered, Medical Technologist, Medical Technologist I (Generalist), or closely
related.
Special skills requirements:
Phlebotomy/Information, Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microscopy (Parasitology/
Urinalysis), and Microbiology.
with proper adherence to quality assurance programs of the laboratory.
chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic, hematological, serologic, and immunologic procedures and
techniques, either manual or automated.
various clinical instruments.
Mindray BC3000PLUS, Mindray BC 6800, SNIBE Maglumi 800, BioMerieux MiniVidas, and laboratory
information systems.
Public Health.
Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
