Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Job Title –Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist 
Location – Dover DE 19901
Shift Details – 7-3:30pm M-F
Sign On Bonus- $12,000 Sign on Bonus 
Must Have: Certified Medical Lab Scientist (ASCP)

General Summary:

Assists the Laboratory Section Supervisor and/or Laboratory Manager in the operational and/or technical management of assigned section(s) by ensuring proper day to day operations of the laboratory discipline(s) and serves as a resource person for problem solving. Responds to changes in workload as necessary, and leads adjustments in work assignments in real-time fashion in the absence of the supervisor. The Lead is accountable for ensuring that appropriate and timely specimen handling, delivery, specimen testing, results reporting and customer service are provided in efficient and cost effective manner in accordance with laboratory and hospital policies and procedures. The Lead works independently in cooperation with the Laboratory Section Supervisor or Laboratory Manager and/or Out Patient Service Center Manager (if applicable). In the absence of a supervisor, may be designated to serve as acting supervisor, with all incumbent duties of the supervisor.

Responsibilities:--

1. Assists the Laboratory Section Supervisor and/or Laboratory Manager in the operational and/or technical management of assigned section(s) by ensuring proper day to day operations of the laboratory discipline(s) and serves as a resource person for problem solving.
2. Performs, analyzes, and reports statistical analysis of data.
3. Performs linearity studies, calibrations, and patient correlations per protocol. 
4. Performs and provides for daily review of patient results.
5. Performs daily monitoring and monthly submission of QC results and review of charts, compiling PI reports, and ad hoc studies. 
6. Recommends remedial action, adjusts means per protocol.
7. Oversees QC and reagent lot rollovers.
8. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities
