Description

Duties:
  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other patient specimens
  • Collect, process, label, and prepare specimens for testing and analysis
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
  • Ensure accuracy of test results through quality control and quality assurance procedures
  • Maintain compliance with NYSED, CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and our client laboratory policies
  • Document and report laboratory findings accurately and promptly
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and specimen handling protocols
  • Support laboratory operations in Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Bank, and related departments as assigned
Skills:
  • Minimum 1 year of General Clinical Technician / Clinical Laboratory experience
  • Experience performing laboratory testing, specimen processing, quality control, and maintaining laboratory standards
  • Experience working in an acute care hospital, public health system, or high-volume laboratory environment - preferred
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR) - preferred
  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission) - preferred
Education:
  • Valid Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) Certification issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED)
  • Primary Source Verification required
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification - preferred
Shift:
  • 12:00 AM-8:00 AM
  • 35 hours/weekly
  • 5 days/week
