    LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Support Services Team Leader to join our team at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital- Ozaukee Campus in Mequon, WI. 

    Work Schedule: 1st shift; Weekdays 8:30am- 5:00pm with rotating weekends and holiday rotation

    Job Responsibilities: 

    • Assistin the supervision of theday to dayoperations of the core laboratory and blood bank clinical laboratory departments
    • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
    • Monitor,operateand troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
    • Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures
    • Assistwith preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
    • Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas
    • Encourage process improvements and best practices
    • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
    • Resolve any production errors as requested by management
    • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
    • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements 
    • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
    • Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures
    • Perform administrative duties as needed

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Associates degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
    • 4 or more years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) OR 2 or more yearsor moreof experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLS)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
    • 2 yearsor moreofexperience as a generalist
    • 2 years or more of experience in blood bank
    • 1 year or moreofexperience supervising or leading a team
    • ASCPor AMTcertification

    Additional Job Standards:

    • In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
    • Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations
    • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
    • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
    • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office  
    • High levelof attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills 
    • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in afast pacedenvironment 
    • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
    • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
