Position: Clinical Instructor of Nursing (Pool)

Position Summary:
This position's primary responsibility is the delivery of clinical education in a pre-licensure nursing program at an assigned clinical site. This is a part-time temporary faculty position. The duration of the assignment will be determined by the Program's needs, with the possibility of extension.
The Catherine W. Wood School of Nursing is currently seeking clinical instructors to create an applicant pool. Selections will be made on an ongoing basis.

The individual will be required to meet specific clinical agency and University requirements as outlined in the Clinical Instructor agreement. Offer contingent on candidate successfully completing University and clinical site requirements and/or credentialing before and during assigned rotation.
The preferred candidate will have strong communication, detail, organization, and computer skills. The preferred candidate will have experience working with the organization sponsoring the clinical group and experience providing care with respect to the assigned course.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate and teach client care in clinical units to nursing students and provide instruction based on the principles of the physical, biological, and psychological subjects related to nursing.
Promote a learning environment that demonstrates trust, respect, and inclusivity for the students, patients, the public, and members of the healthcare team.
Supervise student nurses and demonstrate client care in hospital clinical units.
Evaluate student learning, progress, and clinical reasoning skills as identified in the Clinical Evaluation Tool.
Maintain records of student clinical experience.
Provide input in course planning, clinical schedule, and course outline.
Arrange with the Course Director a mechanism for routine communication exchanges (virtual or face-to-face):
guidance on teaching activities and approaches
clarification on level of the learner
course outcomes
Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with the healthcare team so that the presence of students and their activities are supportive of the unit's goals and needs.
Assist the student in integrating theory and practice, specific to the course's learning activities and to the level of the learner.
Always be available for the student in the clinical setting.
Participate as a member of the course team in the development and evaluation of activities with the Course Director.
Provide timely and ongoing feedback to the student and Course Director regarding individual student and group performance in accomplishment of the course's outcomes.
Provide feedback to the Course Director regarding the clinical setting's effectiveness in supporting student accomplishment of the course and program outcomes.
Submit student and clinical agency evaluations in a timely manner.
Serve as the liaison between the clinical agency and the Catherine Wood School of Nursing.
Participate in the Clinical Instructor Orientation prior to the start of the semester.
Comply with all agency requirements specific to the credentialing and orientation process.
Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX and Information Security, as well as HIPAA, FERPA, and other state and federal mandates.
