Job Summary

C.S. Mott Childrens Hospital at the University of Michigan, Michigan Medicine is seeking energetic and engaged pediatricians to join our Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM). Responsibilities

  • Serving as the attending physician on acute care inpatient services, including the well-newborn service.
  • The possibility for qualified applicants to supervise and teach residents, medical students, and PHM fellows.
  • Providing consultations to other medical, surgical, rehabilitation, and psychiatry services.
  • Performing circumcisions.
  • Opportunities may also exist for split or full-time appointments at our partner hospital.

The PHM division provides 24/7 in-house call, divided amongst all partners on both resident-covered and faculty-only services. Our PHM faculty are actively involved in education, quality improvement, research, and hospital service, serving in multiple leadership roles within the hospital department and medical school. We also have a two-year ACGME-accredited PHM fellowship program, which matriculates two fellows per year.

C.S. Mott Childrens Hospital is a free-standing quaternary care pediatric hospital with 348 private inpatient beds, PICU, NICU, and on-site Pediatric Emergency Department, as well as pediatric subspecialty services not offered anywhere else in Michigan.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have an M.D., D.O. degree and be Board-eligible, Board-certified BEBC in General Pediatrics. Preference will be given to individuals who are seeking full or near-full-time positions, have had post-residency clinical experience, and/or are BEBC in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Successful candidates will hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan.

The candidate must have the excellent clinical skills and knowledge base needed to work independently. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is required. We value strong communication skills and place an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
