The Clinical Informatics Specialist IV plays a critical role in advancing UCLA Health\'s analytics and technology strategy by designing and delivering intelligent, workflow-driven solutions that transform clinical and operational processes. This position combines advanced expertise in data analytics, data modeling, and solution architecture with experience leveraging automation, AI-powered technologies, and agent-based systems to improve organizational performance and decision-making.
In this role, you will partner with clinical, operational, business intelligence, and enterprise analytics teams to translate complex business challenges into scalable, data-driven solutions. You will design, develop, and optimize modern analytics capabilities that leverage enterprise data platforms, automation frameworks, large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and enterprise technologies such as Salesforce to create meaningful operational efficiencies and actionable insights.

This flexible hybrid role allows for a blend of remote and on-site work, requiring presence on-site at least 5% of the time or as needed based on operational requirements. Please note, travel to the â€home office†location is not reimbursed. Each employee will complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager to outline expectations and ensure mutual understanding. These arrangements are periodically reviewed and may be adjusted or terminated as necessary.
Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The full salary range for this position is $109,900 - $243,900 annually. The University anticipates offering a salary below $170,000 annually.

Education & Experience
Technical & Platform Skills
SQL proficiency, including 2+ years of demonstrated expertise/strong programming skills in MS SQL Server or Oracle platforms
Coding experience in common languages like Python
Salesforce experience or willingness to become Agentforce certified within 3 months
Apex class experience preferred
Epic Clarity Data Model certification in one or more modules (EpicCare Inpatient, Hospital Billing, Prelude ADT, Radiant, Willow, Optime) preferred, preferably in employee's area of expertise
Epic build experience in a live environment strongly preferred
AI & Advanced Analytics
Experience with RAG systems, agentic technology, and large language models (LLMs)
Expertise in Prompt and Context Engineering
Advanced data analytics and modeling skills
Data Strategy & Business Intelligence
Extensive knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data structures, and reporting
Understanding of the usage and application of good Data Ops including metadata collection, iterative design and improvement, agile methodology, and more
Superlative analytical, problem-solving, and metadata skills
Superlative ability to translate business questions and requirements into reports, views, and BI query objects
Healthcare Domain Knowledge
Ability to understand and translate healthcare workflows
Extensive knowledge of best practices regarding reporting, workflows, policies, procedures, systems, and culture in the healthcare environment
Project Management & Execution
Experience in gathering, documenting, prioritizing, and tracking requirements
Ability to identify, document, resolve, and/or escalate issues and maintain a complete issues log
Ability to accurately and precisely estimate development time
Ability to manage multiple and competing tasks while maintaining timelines
Must recognize and evaluate problems, and refer to the appropriate channels for action
