Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a Clinical Informatics Coordinator to join our IT Team! The Clinical Informatics Coordinator is responsible for supporting and optimizing all patient care applications and modules; including the nonclinical modules of Cabinet Peak's electronic medical record system. The coordinator is responsible for leading the planning, application, optimization, and ongoing management of clinical applications and informatics initiatives that support healthcare providers. This role ensures that health IT systems align with clinical workflows, enhance patient care, support regulatory compliance, and improve operative efficiency. Additionally, they will understand the overall and specific capabilities of Cabinet Peak's electronic medical record system and patient care applications to proactively seek ways to leverage these capabilities to improve operations, patient care delivery, and clinician experience. The position requires the capacity to successfully manage multiple competing objectives and to communicate complex technical information in understandable terms to management, end user personnel, and physicians. The individual will be responsible for facilitating and promoting the use of information technology by physicians, management, and staff members, with an emphasis on clinically oriented applications. Responsible for the planning, implementation, training, support, and ongoing optimization of specific applications which would include the following Meditech applications: Bedside Medication Management, Emergency Department, Order Entry, Patient Care System, OR/Scheduling, Patient Discharge Instructions, Patient Education, Staffing and Scheduling and Physician Care Manager, and associated system interfaces, report writing software, and other software as designated. Analyzes current workflows and practice patterns and defines clinical requirements. Analyzes and resolves complex systems issues and problems. Additional responsibilities include performing needs assessments, designing and defining computer screens and screen flows, coordinating software changes, fixes and updates and profiling application databases along with the other IS application analysts. May participate in or lead IS projects, especially those impacting the clinical areas of the healthcare system. This role serves as a strategic liaison between clinical departments, informatics technology, and vendors to translate clinical needs into technical solutions and drive adaptation of the electronic health record and related clinical applications. Meet with Pharmacy Manager or designee weekly to review/edit medication order sets for updates and changes. Experience A minimum of 5 years of direct patient care healthcare experience. Previous relevant electronic health record project management and clinical application support.
Educational Requirements
Bachelors degree in a healthcare related field required with a graduate degree preferred Additional clinical informatics certificates or degree preferred
Schedule Full Time: 40 hours a week, 80 hours a pay period, typically, Monday-Friday. Participate on call schedule. During implementations and emergencies there could be an expectation of additional hours.
