    Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    • Provides timely, high quality data reporting and abstraction and related clinical information collection.
    • Coordinates clinical data and audit finding needs to improve patient care delivery, identifies opportunities for improvement and achieves desired patient outcomes.
    • Performs structured audits of medical records. Reviews records for completeness, accuracy, legibility, follow up of abnormal test results and other indicators.
    • Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports.
    • Explains data results as necessary.
    • Evaluates procedures, resolves problems and implements changes to improve production.
    • Verifies the data integrity for statistical analysis.
    • Establishes data bases as needed by leadership.
    • Provides consultation and recommendations based on analytical results to improve business processes or outcomes with the provision of on-going education and support.
    • Formulates validation inter-rater reliability and quality assurance strategies and methods to ensure accurate and reliable data, ensuring appropriate departmental/service line/project and corporate standards are met and the data is correct (may include report generation and comparison). Proactively corrects errors as identified.
    • Works with customer to define informatics and reporting requirements, including System leadership.
    • Collaborates with appropriate Service Lines/IS team for any identified problems and/or outcomes for further investigation or recommended action.
    • Participates as a professional team member in professional committee and survey discussions by attendance and active, thoughtful participation.

    Travel Requirements:

    • Estimated Amount: 5% - Travel required.
