The Clinical Educator is responsible for the development of the plan of education for the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) and the Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU). The Clinical Educator works with the Clinical Director to orient, educate, and train the TCU and ARU Staff in accordance with standards, regulations, and best practice, using a variety of teaching methods. Assists new and current staff in developing role clarity, professional role confidence, and proficiency. Operates as a change agent in the practice and learning environment and assists with staff and unit development.

This role meets the regulatory requirements of the Director of Staff Development/DSD.

Required Experience

Required:

  • Current California RN license
  • Current CPR certification
  • BSN or currently enrolled in BSN program
  • Two years’ clinical experience in an acute care or post-acute care facility
  • Director of Staff Development certification (DSD) with 6 months of hire
  • Current Basic Life Support Card from the American Heart Association

 Preferred:

  • MSN Degree
  • Prior experience in long term care setting
  • Knowledge of Title XXII and Medicare regulations
  • Knowledge/experience in adult teaching methods.
