    Base salary starts at $37.93/hr.

     

    E S S E N T I A L  F U N C T I O N S

    • Plan, coordinate and implement education for the Emergency Department staff.
    • Develop and maintain department specific competencies.
    • Organize and facilitate ongoing education, skills, simulations and competencies.
    • Actively participate in hospital-wide educational initiatives.
    • Participate in General Orientation, Clinical Orientation, Nursing Orientation for new staff.
    • Identify learning needs and provide remediation as needed.
    • Collaboration with other units to identify educational opportunities.
    • Assist with implementation and education related to new equipment, policies, clinical initiatives, etc.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    E D U C A T I O N

    • Graduation of an accredited school of nursing required.
    • MSN preferred.

     

    E X P E R I E N C E

    • Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in critical care required.
    • Previous experience as a clinical educator in a hospital setting strongly preferred.

     

    C R E D E N T I A L S

    • Must be a licensed RN in the State of Wyoming and must be in good standing with the Wyoming Board of Nursing.
    • Must be BLS certified within 60 days of hire and certified as a BLS instructor within 6 months of hire and must maintain credentials throughout employment as a Clinical Instructor at IMH.
    • Must be ACLS certified and certified as an ACLS instructor within 6 months of hire and must maintain credentials throughout employment as a Clinical Instructor at IMH.
    • Must be PALS certified and certified as a PALS instructor within 12 months of hire and must maintain credentials throughout employment as a Clinical Instructor at IMH.

     

    K N O W L E D G E , S K I L L S  A N D  A B I L I T I E S

    • Working knowledge of adult learning styles.
    • Ability to work independently and within deadlines.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
    • Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
    • Demonstrate effective listening skills.
    • Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.
    • Possess exceptional problem solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
    • Ability to learn new computer software programs.
    • Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
    • Demonstrate ethical and legal accountability for the position.
