    Description

    Clinical Education Specialist – Registered Nurse (RN) – 32 hours per week
    Southwoods Health is hiring a Clinical Education Specialist (RN) to coordinate staff development and patient educational activities across our health system. In this role, you will manage compliance for new-hire orientation, Joint Commission readiness, and quality initiatives, while continuously assessing and developing ongoing educational programs to support our teams.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Orientation & Onboarding: Facilitate the house-wide employee orientation program and support new team members through their transition to role independence.
    • Training & Certifications: Develop and deliver annual education, skills days, age-specific training, and AHA certification classes (BLS, ACLS, PALS).
    • Program Development: Identify educational gaps for staff or patients, design training programs, create standardized tip sheets/videos, and establish competency benchmarks.
    • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Participate in Joint Commission readiness rounding, maintain TDDD and CLIA certificates, and ensure clinical operations comply with regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, ODH, TJC).
    • Preceptor Leadership: Coordinate the selection, training, and support of clinical preceptors.
    • Program Evaluation: Measure training effectiveness using post-training surveys, competency reviews, and regular clinical rounding.
    • Patient Education Support: Assist with coordinating the Joint Academy for orthopedic patients and manage the presenter calendar.
     
    Qualifications:
    • License & Education: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
    • Certifications: Current AHA BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS certifications are preferred.
    • Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills paired with computational literacy and clinical problem-solving abilities.
    • Flexibility: Adaptable mindset with a proven ability to identify new teaching opportunities and coordinate personnel, supplies, and equipment efficiently.
     
    Schedule & Position Type:
    • Hours: 32 hours per week.
    • Shift: Day shift only.
    • Availability: No evenings, weekends, or major holidays.
