I have a direct hire onsite Clinical Director position located at Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Southeast Washington, DC 20020. CLINICAL DIRECTOR-JOB DESCRIPTION

Seeking an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Director to provide executive-level clinical and operational leadership for our behavioral health programs. This full-time senior leadership position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is responsible for ensuring the quality, compliance, effectiveness, and continued development of ICFS's clinical services.

 

The Clinical Director provides primary oversight of the agency's Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (MHRS) program.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive and clinical leadership for ICFS behavioral health programs, with primary oversight of MHRS services.
  • Participate in senior leadership decision-making, strategic planning, program development, organizational improvement, and implementation of agency initiatives.
    Ensure clinical operations comply with DC Department of Behavioral Health (DBH),
  • Medicaid, accreditation, payer, contractual, and professional requirements.
    Develop, implement, and monitor clinical policies, procedures, workflows, and standards of care.
  • Provide and oversee individual and group clinical supervision and support staff with complex, high-risk, or urgent clinical situations.
  • Monitor clinical quality, staff productivity, caseloads, documentation timeliness, treatment planning, service utilization, authorizations, and other key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with Quality Improvement on clinical audits, regulatory readiness, corrective action plans, documentation compliance, performance improvement, and accreditation activities.
  • Collaborate with Billing to ensure clinical documentation, medical necessity, authorizations, and EHR workflows support accurate Medicaid billing and reimbursement; assist in resolving clinical causes of denials, recoupments, and other reimbursement barriers.
    Support agency readiness for DBH certification/recertification, Medicaid and payer audits, accreditation surveys, and other regulatory reviews.
     

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in behavioral health, counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, nursing, medicine, or a related clinical discipline.
    Active and unrestricted independent District of Columbia clinical license, such as LPC, LICSW, LMFT, APRN, MD, or another qualifying credential permitted under applicable regulations.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of behavioral health leadership, administrative management, and/or clinical supervision experience.
    Demonstrated experience supervising behavioral health professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of DC community behavioral health, DBH requirements, Medicaid regulations, clinical documentation, medical necessity, service authorization, and reimbursement.
  • Working knowledge of Medicaid billing and the relationship between clinical documentation, service delivery, compliance, and reimbursement.
  • Experience with quality improvement, audits, regulatory compliance, performance management, and corrective action processes.
    Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into effective operational procedures and workflows.
  • Strong computer and EHR proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
