Job Summary:

Clinical Dietitian Specialist Inpatient SUNY Upstate Medical University

Shape patient outcomes at the regions most advanced academic medical center where your expertise is valued and your growth is championed

  • Provide nutrition assessments/follow-ups, interventions, and education

  • Manage Medical Nutrition Therapy through Department-driven policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate on patient care rounds and QAPI initiatives

  • As part of our team, you will practice medical nutrition therapy in this unique environment and play a vital role in improving the nutritional quality of care for this population

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree required. Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration required. NYS Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist license (or eligible) required. Three or more years of post RD certification experience in clinical dietetics. Specialty certification or advanced specialized membership required within 3 years of hire. *Candidates with Bachelors or Masters degree, Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire or within six (6) months of hire, NYS Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist license upon on hire or within one (1) year of hire, and less than 3 years of post RD certification experience will be considered for appointment to an entry-level (SL1) position at commensurate title and salary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master''s degree with preferred area of Nutrition or related field. Two (2) years or more of experience with Inpatient Critical Care or two (2) years or more of experience with Outpatient Counseling with experience in billing. Board certification as a Nutrition Support Clinician or other certifications in Pediatrics or Adult Nutrition: Board Certification as a Specialty in Pediatric Nutrition, Weight Management and Obesity, Oncology Nutrition, Renal Nutrition or board certification in Advanced Diabetes Management.
