Overview
Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services plus critical and emergency care including Children's at Memorial for pediatric emergency care. It provides patients a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services as well as heart and vascular care. Memorial, offering medical and surgical services plus critical care, is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care and is designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health. In addition, Memorial Belleville recently was accredited by the American College of Radiology as a designated Lung Cancer Screening Center. Since 2008, it has been designated as a Magnet-recognized organization for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Memorial Hospital Shiloh, a 94-bed, all-private suite hospital was recognized with Magnet status in 2018 and provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services plus critical care.

Role Purpose
The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) works within the interprofessional team and with the patient and family providing medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to patients with complex/multiple metabolic diagnosis and diseases. This role possesses refined expertise and is highly proficient in his/her specialty. This dietitian not only integrates standards into daily practice but also serves as a role model to his/her colleagues. One or more of the following certifications within job responsibilities is preferred: Specialty Certifications: CSP, CNSC, CDCES, CCTD , CSO, CSG , CSR, Weight Management. A Masters degree is not required if hired before 1/1/24.
Responsibilities
Includes responsibilities of RD I and II plus considers and evaluates medications that may alter nutrition status and evaluates outcomes of those receiving nutrition support therapy. May place Small Bowel Feeding Tubes when trained.Includes responsibilities of RD I and II plus integrates interdisciplinary input and refines prescribed nutrition intervention/plan of care, analyzes outcome measures to assess overall effectiveness of nutrition intervention/plan of care.Integrates into practice knowledge of the research associated with the science, physiology, and pathophysiology of complex disease processes, and utilizes this knowledge when recommending and providing nutrition support therapy.Generates and revises guidelines/protocols based on best available research/evidence. Mentors individuals in advancing a specific skill set.Analyzes and reports nutrition support therapy utilization and related costs; modifies organization/departmental practices based on results in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
