Hours: 8a to 5:30p M-F
What you will do:
The PACU Clinical Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who provides clinical leadership and operational coordination for perioperative services. This role oversees daily workflow, staffing, resource management, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care across designated surgical specialties.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate daily perioperative operations, patient flow, and department throughput.
Provide leadership and support to nursing staff while fostering teamwork and collaboration.
Plan and adjust staffing based on patient acuity, census, and operational needs.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
Oversee the availability and maintenance of supplies and equipment
Serve as a clinical resource and participate in direct patient care as needed.
Support staff development, orientation, and ongoing competency initiatives.
Lead and participate in quality improvement and performance improvement activities.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing standards.
What you will need:
Education:
ADN
BSN preferred
Certification/License:
IL RN License
CPR BLS issued by American Heart Association
Experience:
Experience in Peri anesthesia/OR or Critical Care setting preferred
Leadership/ charge nurse experience preferred
Team building, leadership acumen, critical thinking and effective communication.
Must demonstrate competency in care of all patient age groups specific to specialty. Competencies are unit/specialty specific.
