Overview
The Senior Clinical Compliance Coordinator will assist in the completion of scheduled audits and special projects as assigned by the Corporate Director of Internal Audit & Compliance. This position is responsible for auditing to regulatory guidance. The Senior Clinical Compliance Coordinator will conduct training for appropriate DCH FMC personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory issues and HIPAA. This position provides key compliance changes and updates to the FMC Administrative team and serves as a liaison between FMC and the System internal audit and compliance office.
Responsibilities
Performs clinical compliance audits as assigned based on knowledge as a Registered Nurse. Performs fieldwork and testing in a competent and professional manner. Prepares detailed work papers in accordance with established audit programs for operational and compliance audits and other special projects. Assists in developing effective, practical recommendations for concerns identified during audits. Drafts audit reports, ensuring audit objectives are met, conclusions are documented and supported, and recommendations are clear, concise, and practical. Monitors corrective action plans as a result of compliance auditing and monitoring. Proactively researches and monitors State and Federal sources for new and updated regulations and disseminate to affected parties. Responsible for assisting in the interpretation of legislation, regulations, policies, procedures, and ethical principles in compliance. Researches specific compliance regulatory issues as requested by the Corporate Director of Internal Audit and Compliance. Assists the Corporate Director in investigations of alleged, suspected, or reported violations of State and Federal Law and applicable regulations. Serves as coordinator for the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Swing Bed (SWB) Triple Check Process, including coordination of corrective action for identified concerns or issues. Performs the Fayette Medical Center annual risk assessment and compliance audit plan for approval by the Corporate Director and Audit and Corporate Compliance Committee. Develops and implements training programs for FMC employees affected by regulatory updates/legislation. Communicates with FMC administrative leadership routinely on compliance activities and any concerns needing immediate attention. Conducts Compliance and HIPAA Privacy training during orientation of new employees at FMC. Performs Compliance exit interview as directed by the Corporate Director for FMC employees. Assists the Corporate Director in investigating any reported compliance concerns documented on the annual Corporate Compliance forms completed by FMC employees. Assists with FMC HIPAA privacy investigations as directed the Corporate Director and in coordination with the HIPAA Privacy Officer. Assists/performs HIPAA Privacy walkthroughs and provide department specific HIPAA Privacy training as assigned by the Corporate Director and in coordination with the HIPAA Privacy Officer. Maintains confidentiality of all work performed in the department.

Qualifications
Requires completion of secondary education. Experience in healthcare operations or healthcare auditing, consulting, regulatory and/or compliance, including investigations and resolution of systematic operational problems is preferred. Requires a clinical background to perform clinical compliance audits. CHC (Certification in Healthcare Compliance) preferred. Must have the ability to perform multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a deadline driven environment. Must have the ability to relate well to diverse multidisciplinary teams. Advance computer and internet knowledge required. Experience with Mediregs compliance software is a plus.
Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
