Clinical Assistant - Waltham Inpatient Unit

Assisting clinician during examinations (i.e. obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature and blood pressure, and performing other related duties according to specific needs of clinic). The Waltham Pediatric Inpatient Unit is an 11 bed Surgical Unit, with a typical length of stay of 24 to 72 hours.

Key responsibilities:

• Scheduling, receiving and/or registering patients, visitors and staff for appointments or procedures.
• Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions.
• Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse.
• Obtaining records, files and/or results for appointments and entering related information on appropriate computer systems.
• Answering, screening and routing telephone calls and performing general office support tasks.
• Assisting clinician during examinations (i.e.  obtaining, measuring and recording  routine information such as temperature and blood pressure, and performing other related duties according to specific needs of clinic).
• Transporting patients, supplies and equipment as needed.
• Location: 9 Hope Avenue, Waltham, MA, hours are 7a-3p and 3p-11p.

 
Minimum qualifications:
Education:

• HS Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• 1+ years of direct patient care experience preferred.
