Position Summary/ Department Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under regular supervision and following established procedures and instructions, providing basic direct care to patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse.
  • Assisting patients with feeding and hygiene, obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature, pulse and blood pressure, and accurately documenting results in appropriate computer system.
  • Perform other related duties, such as maintaining a clean work environment, and restocking supplies according to the specific needs of the unit.
  • Transporting patients, supplies and equipment as needed.
  • The ability to frequently lift and carry patients/children/objects weighing 11 to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting and carrying patients/children/objects weighing 21 to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to regularly push and/or pull non‑motorized equipment e.g., stretcher, wheelchair, etc. weighing 21 to over 50 pounds.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work on a team.
  • The ability to exchange information on factual matters.
  • Work shift: 36 hours, rotating days and nights with every third weekend
  • 12 hour shifts: 7:00 am-7:30 pm; 7:00pm-7:30am
  • NOTE: This is a permanent 36hr/week position and we are unable consider temporary hires, for example, summer only.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 1 year CA experience, CNA certification, or Nursing Student with at least one clinical rotation.

Licensure/ Certifications:

  • BLS Certification preferred

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
