Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group is actively seeking a Clinical Assistant for our Coastal Endocrinology office located in Virginia Beach, VA. Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG) is comprised of over 200 physicians and advanced practice clinicians and is the largest physician-owned group on the Peninsula. This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday. 
 
Position Summary
Clinical Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to obtaining vitals, chief complaint for visit, reconciling medications, and recording histories. They will also be responsible for ordering testing in the EHR system, arranging specialist referrals, obtaining authorizations, and scheduling referral appointments.

Major Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Triage patients during point of care and preparing chart for provider.
  • Completing all appropriate outgoing orders for the patient, outbound referrals and assist with authorizations and scheduling surgeries/procedures.
  • Performing casting, DME fittings, and injection preparation.
  • Making sure to fully document patient information into NextGen.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of current Microsoft Office Suites including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access. Office 2007 or newer required.
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques to perform routine tests with attention to proper procedure, precision and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of appropriate medical terminology
  • Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the job offer.
  • Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and follow written protocols.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
 
EDUCATION/TRAINING/REQUIREMENTS
  • Associates degree or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb or balance for limited periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 30 lbs. *
  • Ability to grasp and hold up to 25 lbs.*
  • Ability to hear normal voice level communications in person or through the telephone.
  • Ability to speak clearly and understandably.
  • Ability to smell.
