Job Title: Clinic ManagerJob Description

The Clinic Manager oversees the successful implementation, maintenance, and expansion of high-quality patient care services while ensuring the clinic operates efficiently and remains financially productive. This role is responsible for achieving business objectives, optimizing patient access to care, and ensuring the overall success of clinic operations. The Clinic Manager plays a key leadership role within established community health clinics, directly impacting clinic growth, patient access, and operational performance, and regularly collaborates with executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve financially successful and net revenue positive operations for the clinic or clinics under management.
  • Meet or outperform clinic business, productivity, and financial goals, including revenue and expenditure budget targets.
  • Meet or outperform target provider productivity goals across all overseen clinic sites.
  • Oversee all aspects of clinic operations logistics and infrastructure to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Identify, address, and successfully remedy any productivity or financial shortfalls in a timely manner.
  • Implement, maintain, and expand the full scope of designated patient care services, which may include Medical, Mental Health, Ob/Gyn, Endocrinology, Dental, Optometry, and Nutrition.
  • Ensure patients have optimized access to quality care, including low telephonic wait times, short next-available appointment windows, minimal waiting room times, and efficient patient processing times.
  • Implement and maintain active status for all payor programs relevant to the clinic.
  • Oversee licensing and certification requirements for clinic sites and programs, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Remain physically present on site during business hours or designate approved management coverage when not on site.
  • Be accessible after hours via telephone and be available to come on site to directly manage urgent or emergency situations, such as power failures or vaccine transfers.
  • Ensure that all operational strategic goals, objectives, and needs of the clinic are consistently met.
  • Lead and manage all clinic site staff, including training, development, recruitment, credentialing, privileging, staff alignment, job duty adherence, performance assessment, and disciplinary management.
  • Proactively resolve and prevent issues that restrict, obstruct, or negatively impact clinic operations or the achievement of clinic goals and objectives.
  • Meet or outperform Quality Management goals, including Quality Improvement initiatives, Quality Assurance preventative and corrective actions, Utilization Management targets, and credentialing requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated management skills with the ability to lead and oversee clinic operations and staff.
  • Experience in a primary care clinic or similar healthcare setting.
  • Ability to manage financial performance, including revenue, expenditures, budgets, and productivity targets.
  • Strong operational oversight capabilities, including logistics and infrastructure management.
  • Proven ability to implement and expand multiple patient care service lines such as Medical, Mental Health, Ob/Gyn, Endocrinology, Dental, Optometry, and Nutrition.
  • Skill in optimizing patient access and throughput, including call management, scheduling, and front-office workflows.
  • Capability to manage payor program implementation and ongoing compliance.
  • Experience overseeing licensing and certification processes for healthcare facilities and programs.
  • Leadership skills in staff management, including training, development, recruitment, credentialing, privileging, performance evaluation, and disciplinary action.
  • Ability to respond effectively to urgent or emergency situations and make sound operational decisions under pressure.
  • Strong focus on quality management, including Quality Improvement, Quality Assurance, Utilization Management, and credentialing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Medical assistant diploma, providing a strong clinical and administrative foundation for clinic operations.
  • Background working with primary care services and community health populations.
  • Experience in community health clinics serving underserved populations.
  • Comfort in a high-visibility leadership role with regular exposure to executive leadership.
  • Track record of driving clinic growth, improving patient access, and enhancing operational performance.

Work Environment

This role is based in established community health clinics with multiple locations throughout Los Angeles County, serving underserved populations in a mission-driven environment. The Clinic Manager works on site during business hours and remains accessible after hours for urgent or emergency situations. The work involves close collaboration with clinical and administrative teams, oversight of diverse service lines such as Medical, Mental Health, Ob/Gyn, Endocrinology, Dental, Optometry, and Nutrition, and engagement with payor programs, licensing bodies, and quality management initiatives. The position offers a high-visibility leadership environment with regular interaction with executive leadership and a stable organizational setting where the leadership team is actively engaged in hiring and moving candidates through the process quickly.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Los Angeles, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
