Dental Assistant (Expanded Function) –Detroit, MI.

Local Pay: $33.00/hour

Shift Details:

Dental Assistant (Expanded Function) Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Place and finish dental restorations(fillings) after the dentist prepares the tooth. -

  • Take accurate impressions for temporary crowns, bridges, and diagnostic models. 

  • Fabricate and place temporary crowns and bridges. -

  • Perform coronal polishing and fluoride treatments. -

  • Apply sealants and desensitizing agents as directed. -

  • Assist the dentist during procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, and endodontic treatments. 

  • Take and process radiographs. 

  • Maintain proper infection control and sterilization standards. 

  • Provide clear post-treatment instructions to patients. 

  • Charts treatment notes accurately and assists with updating patient records. 

  • Monitor inventory and prepare trays for procedures. 

  • Support front office team with patient flow and case coordination when needed

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Current, valid, and unrestricted MI license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

  • One (1) - two (2) years of dental assisting experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of restorative procedures and materials.

  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.

  • EFDA experience.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • CPR Certification.

  • Completion of dental radiography course.

  • EFDA.

  • Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

  • Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents.(Expanded Function Dental Assistant (CODA),X-Ray Certification, CPR Certification)
