Dental Assistant (Oral Surgery) –Alexandria, VA.

Local Pay: $43.00/hour

Shift Details:

Dental Assistant (Oral Surgery) Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist oral surgeons with surgical procedures including extractions, dental implants, none grafts, and IV sedation cases. 

  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, operatory, and sterilization areas in compliance with infection control protocols. 

  • Monitor and reassure patients before, during and after procedures, ensuring comfort and safety. 

  • Take and process dental radiographs, including panoramic and CBCT imaging (if certified). 

  • Provide clear post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers. 

  • Manage surgical inventory, prepare surgical trays, and order supplies as needed. 

  • Supports sedation and anesthesia setup (IV or nitrous) and recovery process under supervision. -

  • Collaboration with front desk and clinical staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient experience. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Current, valid, and unrestricted VA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Dental Assistant Certification.

  • Minimum one (1) - two (2) years of dental assisting experience. -Oral surgery experience.

  • Experienced in IV sedations & Nitrous Oxide is highly recommended.

  • X-Ray certification 

  • Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

  • Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents.
