Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Client Training Coordinator is responsible for working with the South Carolina Small Business Development Centers (SC SBDC) leadership and the statewide network to develop and deploy client and public training programs. The primary objective is to coordinate the development and implementation of a statewide training program for the SC SBDC, including learning management system (LMS)-based training delivery and reporting. Duties include conducting research to identify needs and benchmark available tools/knowledge, providing input on program design, guiding coordination of programs across regions, participating in presentations and training on new tools/programs, and managing documentation/meeting notes. The Training Coordinator will inventory the SC SBDC's current client training offerings, assess gaps and address duplications across the state. The incumbent will support other related initiatives as appropriate.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in or working knowledge of training protocols.
  • Exceptional organization and planning skills.
  • Strong preference for experience working in or with small businesses.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge and proficiency with online platforms such as Zoom, CRM systems, and data management.
  • Self-starter, goal-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple assignments within strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills and success in directing and coordinating collaborative projects.

Design and Implementation of Training Programs

  • Coordinate with region directors and business consultants to assist in creating and deploying a comprehensive training program.

  • Work with Region Directors and subject matter experts to inventory and review internal programs, then address training gaps, ensuring that specialty programs are included:

  • Government contracting

  • Exporting

  • Tech commercialization

  • Cybersecurity and AI

  • Agribusiness

  • Develop a process to segment training courses by complexity level and client type.

  • Establish a method, including appropriate LMS tools and workflows, for tracking clients and client training offerings to ensure consistency with the SC SBDC strategic priorities and that client needs are met.

Establish and Coordinate Statewide Training Calendar

  • Establish and coordinate the development and scheduling of a statewide training calendar.
  • Work with all regions to minimize duplication while ensuring easy access for clients.
  • Develop a systematic process to identify, gather, and coordinate training programs for core topics and specialty areas (e.g., government contracting, exporting).
  • Manage the posting of SC SBDC programs in the LMS and on partner websites such as SBA, SCDOC, etc.

Program Facilitation

  • Act as a facilitator to conduct training sessions via Zoom webinars.
  • Assist SC SBDC personnel with program preparation, dry runs, and chat feature management.
  • Coordinate with the SBDC marketing department on event promotion as needed.
  • Conduct SC SBDC client follow-up for online and LMS-based programs.

Reporting, Tracking, and Administrative Duties

  • Monitor client attendance and satisfaction; analyze and use data to recommend new and enhanced programming.
  • Assist with reporting of training events.
  • Track and report activities and accomplishments to the leadership team.
  • Work with the Associate State Director to assist in planning curriculum for the statewide training conference, time permitting.
  • Create, configure, and maintain LMS course structures, templates, learning paths, digital resources, assessments, evaluations, and completion/certificate tracking.
  • Manage LMS administration and oversight, including course deployment, user roles/permissions, enrollment/access, content updates, learner communications, troubleshooting, record retention, and coordination with instructors and subject matter experts.
  • Develop and maintain LMS reports/dashboards to track registration, attendance, participation, completion, satisfaction, engagement, and training outcomes; analyze data to support programming improvements, leadership updates, and required reports.
