ABOUT FIX IT PEOPLE

Fix It People is a Chicago-based handyman & home improvement company serving homeowners, property managers, and real estate professionals. We operate in a relationship-driven business where trust, responsiveness, and clarity matter as much as technical accuracy.

We’re hiring a Client & Sales Manager to own revenue generation at the front end of the business: managing incoming leads, closing sales, and proactively supporting business development.

This role blends sales judgment, estimating, client management, and light business development. It is not only an estimator role, nor is it a standalone business development position.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Client & Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue through a mix of reactive sales (handling inbound leads, quoting, and closing) and proactive outreach (identifying new opportunities, partnerships, and referral sources).

You will be the primary point of contact for prospective clients and a key contributor to company growth, both by converting existing demand and helping create new demand when capacity allows.

This role follows the natural rhythm of the home services industry. During peak season (Q2–Q3), the focus is high-volume reactive sales — managing inbound leads, quoting quickly, and closing consistently. During slower periods (Q4–Q1), the emphasis shifts toward proactive outreach, business development, and building the relationships and systems that drive the next busy season. The role requires comfort operating in both modes.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Client & Sales Management
– Own the front-end sales process from initial inquiry through quote approval
– Manage inbound leads via phone, email, and CRM
– Conduct virtual and  in-person project assessments (primarily Chicago)
– Develop clear, accurate scopes of work & quotes in collaboration with the internal team
– Communicate scope, pricing logic, and expectations clearly with clients
– Follow up consistently to move opportunities toward approval
– Maintain organized records of leads, quotes, and client communication
– Coordinate clean handoff from sales to scheduling and project execution

Business Development & Revenue Growth
– Maintain awareness of lead volume, pipeline health, and seasonal slowdowns
– During slower periods, shift focus toward proactive revenue generation
– Attend  networking, industry, or referral-based events
– Identify and pursue relationship-based opportunities (e.g. real estate, property management, adjacent trades)
– Experiment with and propose new outreach or lead-generation ideas
– Act as a brand representative in professional settings when appropriate
