This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.

Job Description

The Part-Time Elections Clerk performs a variety of administrative and customer service duties in support of voter registration and absentee voting operations. This position is responsible for entering voter information within the Georgia Voter Registration System (GARVIS), processing voter correspondence, and assisting with the issuance and acceptance of absentee-by-mail ballots. The Elections Clerk also supports the administration of absentee ballot processes by reviewing documentation, communicating with voters, and ensuring compliance with applicable election laws, regulations, and established procedures. Work is performed with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to providing excellent customer service to voters and the public.

Essential Duties

  • Performing data entry of voter registration and election records.

  • Generating, reviewing, and saving reports using election and office software systems.

  • Utilizing Microsoft Word to prepare, edit, and maintain correspondence, forms, and other election-related documents.

  • Utilizing Microsoft Excel to organize, track, and maintain voter and election-related data.

  • Providing customer service and responding to inquiries from voters and the public in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Reviewing voter documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.

  • Maintaining election records, files, and documentation in accordance with departmental requirements.

  • Managing multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Performing general clerical duties, including filing, scanning, copying, and document management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of one-year general office/customer service experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
