Position Summary:

Reports to the deputy warden, programs. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative tasks, systems and procedures related to programs administration in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) and Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) directives.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to facility programs.
• Perform data entry with accuracy, and draft correspondences as required.
• Perform duties to include composing reports and letters.
• Proofread material to verify accuracy or make corrections when needed.
• Maintain accurate records and files, forms and correspondence sent, received and/or requiring further action.
• Assist programs specialist in preparing required reports for contractual compliance.
• Maintain appropriate office supplies for the department.
• Operate office equipment, including computers, fax machine, and copier.
• Log and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail, answer telephone and convey messages.
• Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
• Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year experience in an education program setting preferred. Computer knowledge required. A valid driver's license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
