The following are the duties of this position at the GS-5. You will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this developmental position.
Utilizes available computer software (including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and graphics) in preparing memoranda, letters, reports, charts, forms and other material from rough drafts, oral instructions and handwritten notes.
Serves as a consultant and reference source to other clerks in answering questions encountered in their work. Also serves as consultant to supervisor of the unit.
Prepares transmittals of approved tax refund claims to Financial Management Division (FMD) for processing.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) provides leadership and coordination and recommends policy for activities designed to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the administration of the internal revenue laws. TIGTA also recommends policies to prevent and detect fraud and abuse in the programs and operations of the IRS and related entities.
U.S. Mint
The U.S. Mint designs and manufactures domestic, bullion and foreign coins as well as commemorative medals and other numismatic items. The Mint also distributes U.S. coins to the Federal Reserve banks as well as maintains physical custody and protection of our nation's silver and gold assets.
