Primary Purpose:
Facilitate the Multilingual Programs department Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) processes, procedures, and training across the district. Serve as a liaison between parents and the school district. Work collaboratively with campuses to support multilingual learners through language assessment, student monitoring, data management, and instructional support services that contribute to student achievement and language development.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records, Reports and Correspondence
Provide clerical support for multilingual programs.
Serve as mentor for new campus LPAC clerks/paraprofessionals.
Conduct audits of camps LPAC documents in student's cumulative record, not limited to: home language Survey, Bilingual/ESL/Dual Language Permission Letter, English/Spanish forms, student assessment data, monitoring forms and end of year documentation.
Collaborate with district and campus PEIMS Emergent Bilingual (EB) coding with campus administration.
Maintain and update the District LPAC Procedures Manual/LPAC Timeline in accordance with federal, state and district policies.
Provide guidance and support to LPAC members regarding LPAC procedure and program compliance.
Complete and file timely submission of all EB documents.
Follow process in accordance within the LPAC manual for identification, placement, and review of all EB students with PEIMS and district timelines.
Serve as a district-level liaison between the district and parents of EB students.
Host and conduct meetings and presentations for parents of EB students individually or in collaboration with district personnel and departments.
Attend mandatory staff development activities as needed, to perform job functions and improve performance.
Perform routine bookkeeping tasks, including simple arithmetic operation of the office.
Keep database of second language learners, immigrants, and at-risk students
Keep LPAC documentation for district.
Monitor LPAC files throughout district by visiting campus on a routine basis and maintaining reports

Maintain confidentiality of all information.
Support Newcomers, students new to the country, through in-class or small group instruction under the supervision of the campus designee or designated teacher of record
Participate in staff development training programs when appropriate.
Keep informed and comply with all state, district, department, and campus policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or designee.
