Summary
SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Presiding Magistrate, the Clerk III is responsible for processing and maintaining all criminal and civil records for the Magistrate's office in a timely and efficient manner. Additional duties include processing all requests for bonds, examining trials, emergency protective orders, ignition interlock orders and minor misdemeanor cases. This individual will have daily contact with the public, local law enforcement agencies and other county departments. This is a full-time position, with a fixed schedule requiring Saturdays and Sundays.

Mandatory Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED equivalent required; the individual should possess a thorough working knowledge of clerical procedures and practices with accurate typing skills; one (1) to two (2) years of experience in clerical operations; must be able to become TLETS certified for TCIC-NCIC review access.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
