    Job Title: Clerk III - (Diagnostician) Pay Grade: SA 3 Min $23,320/Mid $29,146/Max 34,971

    Reports To: Director of Special Education FLSA Status: Non-Exempt & Diagnostician

    Dept./School: Special Education Department Minimum Duty Days: 220 days Primary Purpose: Assists the educational diagnostician in the preparation and management of proper documents. Assures that all data is recorded accurately in meeting timelines. Work under the supervision of a certified educational diagnostician.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED from a school recognized by the Texas Education Agency/ Texas Private School Accreditation Commission
    • Three years clerical experience.
    • Driver's License and access to an insured vehicle.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • 48 Semester credit hours from an accredited institution

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Ability to work with children with disabilities.
    • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Knowledge of general office equipment.
    • Have a constructive and cooperative attitude toward the duties of the sc hool, the staff and the student.

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    1. Assist the educational diagnostician in preparing testing materials
    2. Assist the educational diagnostician in keeping administrative records, assisting in 3 year reevaluations, initials, annuals, completing ARD notices, and contacting parents.
    3. Completes quality control forms and tra cks corrections to ensure that all Special Education paperwork is maintained accurately and within timelines from teachers and diagnosticians.
    4. Work cooperatively with other faculty members and aides to plan and carry out effective school Page 2 of 2 Revised August 2019

    programs.

    1. Assist the diagnostician with special education PEIMS submissions to ensure compliance.
    2. Verify student information with campus clerical personnel and PEIMS clerk (child count)
    3. Provide special education staff and campuses with logs, rosters, and data reports.
    4. Complete initial Medicaid Service tickets and ensure appropriate submissions monthly
    5. Correspond with other agencies to requests/release confidential special education information and/or records.
    6. Distribute and/or collect special education forms to/from campuses, offices, parents, and special education staff.
    7. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
    8. Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
    9. Make visits using personal vehicle to homes, doctors' offices, campuses.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: None

    Equipment Used: Wheelchair lift, ramps, personal computer, copier, typewriter, and audiovisual equipment.

    Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

    • Maintain emotional control under stress.
    • Frequent standing; sitting; stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, transporting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
    • Moderate heavy lifting.
    • Biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases.
    • Working in the outside environment subject to hot weather conditions.
    • Must be able to drive personal motor vehicle (automobile).
