Position Summary:
Responsible for filing, maintaining patient charts, and entering data in computer system.
Education, License & Cert:
High School graduate or equivalent required.
Experience: Knowledge of medical and technical terms. Experience in the management of medical records and the use of computers desired.
Essential Functions:
Must have excellent phone skills. Answers phones and directs phone parties accordingly.
Must have good computer skills. Data entry when requested.
Responsible for accurately filing/scanning.
Responsible for sending and tracking all POC's and physician verbal orders in the computer software. Upload OASIS to QIES.
Responsible for daily office functions, IE, PO's, office supplies.
Responsible as department timekeeper.
Responsible for activities in the Medical Record room i.e. scanning charts, creating new patient chart. Assuring all proper documentation is in chart at time of final discharge.
Responsible to verify new physician license and UPIN #.
Verifies Medicare in dedicated software.
